There are those who just want to see the snow, and there are those who want to spend every available moment on the ski slopes. There may be different tour packages to cater to these, but like all tourist trips the point is to enjoy oneself.
Trips are arranged so that there is an hour for outfitting individuals with ski gear. This actually makes for a pleasant beginning to the skiing trip. Experienced skiers often have their own gear, or their way of dressing for the cold. Some wear multiple layers under ski clothing; others find the dual layered ski clothes quite sufficient. Manoeuvrability is an issue for skiing, so looser and less bulky outfits can be preferable. When skiing there is a lot of heat produced by physical activity, so staying dry and windproof can be more of a concern that staying warm. Any decent brand of ski clothing does a decent job of keeping one warm under normal conditions.
For children or inexperienced skiers there are helmets and other safety equipment available. As children have a low centre of gravity and as falling on snow isn’t too painful this gear is optional; but a few injuries can be serious, and a twisted knee is soothing to be avoided at all costs.
Those skiing for the first time will find boots take some getting used to; they are not designed for walking. One of our guides can give advice, and show some warm up exercises useful to those about to hit the slopes.
When an individual feels sufficiently confident s/he can purchase a lift ticket and enjoy the slopes. Some of the slopes are long but smooth enough for a beginner to accommodate. Individuals can progress to more challenging slopes as they gain confident and skill.
Korea ski tours include pickup and return transportation, a tour guide (available in English if required), all basic equipment including winter cloths, a ski ticket for the basic slopes, and a professional introductory lesson.
